Welcome to Office of the Controller of Examinations. Exam Related information / services for all the Students of Nirmala College for Women, Coimbatore will be provided under this category. The Institute, under Bharathiar University, was granted autonomous status by UGC and Government of Tamil Nadu with effect from the Academic year 2007-08.

Examination System
Nirmala College for Women, Coimbatore became Autonomous in 2007 and continues to be affiliated to Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. It has been given freedom to frame its own courses of studies and adopt innovative methods of teaching and evaluation. In keeping with its tradition of promoting innovation and growth, the college had introduced the choice based credit system (CBCS) since 2008-2009 with the following objectives in view:
  • To enhance the curriculum to facilitate job opportunities.
  • To impart skills that are required for an entrepreneur.
  • To provide the students with a greater flexibility in their choice of courses.
  • To enable the students to have their own choice of courses at the basic / advanced level, according to their needs, aspirations and learning capacity.
  • To provide opportunities to the students to earn extra credits within the stipulated time.
The evaluation method of CBCS with grading provides a much better picture of the academic personality of the students than the existing one with marks indicated in percentages. Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) and Grade point Average (GPA) are indicators of the academic performance of the students. The students can have horizontal mobility in studying certificate and diploma courses for their further empowerment with learning flexibility.
